Mount Giouchtas is a protected Natura 2000 area with exceptional beauty and high biodiveristy, but it was also an important religious site for the Minoan civilization. The hike is considered challeging due to the elevation gain and its steepness at some parts, but it offers some of the most breathtaking views of central Crete. The mountain is also natural habitat for vultures and other animals that we see during the hike. It is about 7.5km long and it is a loop trail. After the hike we will have free time to visit the traditional village of Archanes. Worth doing for the ones who love hiking with great views, bird watching and amazing landscapes
