Through this trail we will explore the central part of Crete visiting two plateaus reaching an altitude of 1150m. Our route passes through lush olive groves and Roman ruins of Lyttos. Our first stop is at the traditional village of Kastamonitsa in a local traditional coffee shop. We will start our ascend using dirt roads and enjoying stunning views, passing by the monastery of Agia Anna. We will reach the Limnakaro Plateau. The view from there is amazing and will reward you. We will learn about local mythology and the local way of life. Our next stop is the cave of Zeus. Later, we will enjoy our meal, typical of the traditional Cretan cuisine. Passing through Seli we will be surely enchanted by the landscape. During our descend we reach the traditional village of Krasi with its 2000 year old plane tree and the ancient natural water spring. Finally, through a beautiful route with a very nice view we get back to the hotel full of memories.
